2026 is an exceptionally auspicious year for the Mount Kailash Kora. For it is the Year of the Horse in the Tibetan calendar—the zodiac year of Mount Kailash itself. It is also the year marking both the birth and enlightenment of Buddha. According to legend, at the moment of Buddha's birth, immortals from all ten directions gathered at Mount Kailash.
